Priscilla LAI

Freelance theatre director, movement coach, performer, drama teacher and facilitator.

Priscilla was trained at L’Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in France and Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London University in United Kingdom. She gained a performance certificate (Physical Theatre) and Master of Arts in Applied Theatre. Priscilla has performed in different theatre festivals and worked with different theatre companies in Taiwan, Singapore, UK, Czech Republic, Denmark and Spain. She was Artistic and Program Director of Playtogether Children Musical School, local artist of Artists-in-Residence Project for 40th Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Senior Education and Outreach Officer of Chung Ying Theatre. In 2012, Priscilla was the first Chinese teacher to be invited for movement workshops for Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Castilla y León in Spain. Priscilla is good at storytelling and she performed a solo touring “Mother Earth” for Youth Arts Foundation in 2011.

Priscilla has over 10 years of experiences teaching drama and holding workshops in primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong and UK. She is also a tutor of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (Applied Learning) and course instructor (theatre) for HKUST subject taught include: Acting, Narrative Art of Drama, Movement and Mime. Recent years, Priscilla uses drama as a tool in corporate setting and has worked with different industries in Hong Kong and overseas.

Priscilla also participated in various screen and theatre performances. Recent theatre credits include: Hong Kong Arts Festival “£¥€$ Lies”, The Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connections “Grimm Adventures – A Reimagination of Grimm’s Fairy Tales”, and “Comedy of Mistakes”.
