Do you want to sing well in classical, Broadway and contemporary pop singing?
In this course, students will learn proper vocal technique and various genres of songs, diversities and methods to increase the flexibility in different singing styles. Students will also learn proper breathing methods, voice volume control, extended width of pitches, different song styles presentations. Student will apply singing postures correctly, polish articulation, master resonates of different voice zones, enhance singing tone, and to cultivate appealing performance on stage.
The last lesson will be a showcase . Students can choose their favourite songs to perform. Family and friends are welcome to come and share the learning outcomes of the students.

Tutor's Profile
Tutor: Lai Wan-kei Maggie
Maggie received her tertiary music training from the Academy’s School of Music and took further studies at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, majoring in vocal performance, achieving the Professional Diploma and Master Degree in Music respectively. During her course of study in Australia, she has appeared with the Opera North in Mackay, Australia, as the Swallow in the Happy Prince, and with the Studio Opera as Anna in The Rake’s Progress.
She was also a finalist in the Asian Pacific Vocal Competition in 1995. After returning to Hong Kong, Maggie has been actively involved in many opera and theatrical productions. She participated in the contemporary chamber opera Night Banquet presented by the Hong Kong Arts Festival and many other operas including Carmen, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Il Trovatore and in the Theatre drama production Hobson’s Choice. Maggie had also appeared in numerous concerts as soloist, singing musical numbers from the Broadway to Western and Chinese classical and folk songs.
Maggie performed as a soloist in various productions of The Hong Kong Musical Theatre Federation, Active Culture Salon and others, and was one of the soloists in The Harmonist-The World of John Adams with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and with the Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra. Maggie has been a tutor for the Hong Kong Children’s Choir, the School of Continuing Education in HK Baptist University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is currently teaching at the Academy’s School of Music, EXCEL of the Academy, and the Division of Continuing Professional Education of the Hong Kong Institute of Education.
