The objective of Drama-based Public Speaking for advanced beginners is to expand and challenge your public speaking ability with higher levels of requirements. Each session will revolve around a presentation format, ranging from improvised to prepared, from random to personal and/or work-related material. As advanced beginners, participants should have regular public speaking experience (e.g.: work-related presentations, media facing etc.).
In the course, participants will be required to:
‣ Bring a ‘real-time’ speech/presentation/assignment for practice & presentation
‣ Complete presentation evaluation forms under tutor’s guidance with given evaluation parameters
‣ Be filmed for in-class feedback or critiques.
It is recommended for participants should have some regular public speaking experience or have previously taken EXCEL’s Drama-based public Speaking. The course is conducted in a small group of 8 students to ensure ample attention given to each student.

Tutor: Howard Paley
Howard is a professional actor, director, drama teacher and public speaking coach.
Passionate about the performing arts for most of his life, Howard directs, performs and coaches in dramas, musicals, commercials, films and corporate role-plays.
He further honed his skills in New York City and Los Angeles where he spent 20 months immersing himself in performing, scene study and audition techniques.
With his unique methodology and blend of drama and commercial experience, Howard has worked across Asia designing, leading and coaching drama-based public speaking coaching, role plays, workshops, classes and presentation & sales training for clients such as Richemont Group, Mont Blanc, Grand Hyatt Hotels, Estee Lauder, Colliers, GlaxoSmithKline, Jardines, Swire, PepsiCo, Philip Morris International, The Gap, Dairy Farm, ANZ, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Hong Kong Monetary Authority and many others. He also teaches in secondary and tertiary institutions including HKAPA EXCEL, Shantou Technical University (STU), Guandong Israel Insitute of Technology (GIIT), HKU, CityU, HKUST and numerous local and international schools.
