Introduction to the Hong Kong Arts and Culture Scene (Module from Diploma in Theatre and Entertainment Arts Foundations)

 

The course provides an overview of the arts and culture scene in Hong Kong. Through lectures, seminars, and field studies, students are exposed to various arts and cultural perspectives to acquire a comprehensive picture of the city’s arts and cultural landscape. The lecture topics include, but are not limited to Hong Kong’s cultural policy, arts infrastructures, and key developments.

 

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand the importance and significance of the inter-disciplinary nature of Hong Kong’s arts and culture scene, and how different cultural expressions interweave to shape our identity, taste, and value as aspiring artist.

 

  1. Hong Kong culture and Hong Kong arts development: 14 hours
  2. Institutions, organisations, companies, and venues: 13 hours
  3. Key developments in Hong Kong arts and culture: 13 hours
  4. Test or Quiz: 2 hours

 

(42 hours in total)

Introduction to the Hong Kong Arts and Culture Scene

  • Total Tuition Fee: HKD 10,500

    (Payable in 4 instalments; HKD 2,625 per instalment)

     

    *Applicants who apply for the CEF funding for the first application will be subsidised course fees up to HKD 8,400. (After the subsidy, students pay only HKD 2,100 for 42 training hours)
