Safety in Theatre (Module from Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Theatre and Entertainment Arts)

 

The course aims to increase students’ awareness of workplace hazards and safety within the theatre and in live entertainment contexts. Through lectures and discussions, students will gain insight and understanding on: 

 

  1. The legislations related to occupational safety and health in Hong Kong.
  2. Concept of health and safety risk management for both workers and the audience. 
  3. Practical knowledge to manage common health and safety risks as well as those specific to theatre-related activities. 

 

  • Introduction to Health & Safety: 7 hours 
  • In-house accident reporting: 7 hours 
  • Material Safety Data Sheets: 7 hours 
  • Hazard identification and risk assessment: 7 hours 
  • Examination: 2 hours 

 

(30 hours in total) 

Safety in Theatre

  • Total Tuition Fee: HKD 7,500

    (Payable in 3 instalments; HKD 2,500 per instalment)

     

    *Applicants who apply for the CEF funding for the first application will be subsidised course fees up to HKD 6,000. (After the subsidy, students pay only HKD 1,500 for 30 training hours)
