Tasha started learning ballet at the age of eight and was trained at the Hong Kong Academy of Ballet. In 1986, she was awarded a scholarship from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to study at the Royal Ballet School of London. Upon graduation, Tasha was invited to join the Hong Kong Ballet in 1988. It took her a mere three years to establish herself as Principal Dancer with the company. In 1994, Tasha joined the Singapore Dance Theatre and has since taken on numerous lead roles in both classical and contemporary repertoires. Tasha has performed in many countries and was the guest artist for Queensland Ballet, the Hong Kong Ballet Group and DanceArt Hong Kong between the years of 2000 and 2004. Tasha is currently a freelance dancer and teacher. In 2003, she was invited to teach ballet at both the Academy and Architanz in Japan.
